From the notebook.... The Moving Monday

What fun it is to move around,
Furniture that has long sat down,
To move them into corners new
(Including the couch so nice and blue).

Although sweet memories come to mind,
Of the old rocking chair e'er so kind,
That used to sit in the corner, too
(Along with the couch so nice and blue).

Yet ever so often, we need something different,
Something that'll let us have more enjoyment,
And thus we move things to corners new
(Including the couch so nice and blue).

Cute poem! Do you know about the "Anthology of Short Stories by Young Americans"? You can send them your poems and short stories for possible publication! Courtney had one published in the 2002 edition because of a short story her 3rd grade teacher sent in. You will receive your own copy of the book with your name engraved in gold on the front if you are published....which, by reading these poems, you should have no problem!! I can send you the address and other info if you are interested. Might make a fun homeschool project? (if your mom gives you the OK! :) )

Sure, Faith! that would be nice.

Elly, I like your poem. It reminds me of "The Jacket I wear in the Snow". :-)
